 Learning Intentions: (ELAL)

Writing: Ideas and information can be articulated accurately and imaginatively through the use of

writing processes and an understanding of the author's craft.

I Can:

-Generate ideas that can be expressed through messages.

-Create written messages in a variety of forms to represent ideas or information.

-Share written messages with others.

Writing is hard work! Our brains formulate ideas, organize our thoughts, choose words, structure sentences, and coordinate fine motor skills needed for printing. In grade 2, we practice these skills in isolation and as a complete package. Here we are writing about Halloween. Students had the option of using sentence starters to support in their writing.

Students shared their writing and pictures with a partner. This helps to develop confidence, practice communication skills, and learn to see their work from another person's perspective - all of which strengthen their writing and build pride in their ideas.

It was great to be back all together in our school community. Thank you for the ongoing support!
