Ask your child to tell you all about the fabulous Sibbald Olympics that Mr. B set up for the week! Students played hard and really enjoyed getting the chance to be Olympians!
As we began celebrating the beginning of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games being held in Milano Cortina, students were very excited to share their knowledge of what they already knew about the Olympics. Each day we looked forward to the Olympic trivia questions that Mr. Campbell announced and we always excited to research to find the answers! Here are just a few of the questions:
- How many Canadian athletes are participating in the 2026 winter Olympics? How many of those Canadian athletes are from Alberta?
- Which Canadian province has the most athletes participating at the games?
- How many different events are there in the Winter Olympics? How many of the events can you name?
We talked about the hard work and resiliency of the athletes and how excited and honored they must feel to be representing Canada. Checking the medal standings was a daily highlight as we cheered for Canada and looked at the standings of other countries as well.
We learned about current Indigenous Olympians competing in Milano as well as some of the Indigenous trailblazers from earlier times.
